Since our inception in 2014, Pembroke Titans Against Drugs (PTAD) has worked to provide many events and prevention education in our schools and community.
Our continuing efforts include:
- Brave Spaces digital art expressions program to raise awareness for mental health and substance issues, in partnership with Pembroke High School
- Funded Project Interface in partnership with Pembroke Public Schools – a mental health and substance abuse referral service for all Pembroke residents
- D.A.R.E Camp: Annually sponsor local youth to attend the camp and provide local Pembroke High School students to volunteer
- True Titan scholarships: Annually select and award 2 Pembroke High School students for being exemplary leaders for their peers by making healthy decisions
- True Titan Award: Seasonally award multiple local youth with this award to recognize children who have done a great job leading by example and encouraging healthy decision making amongst their peers
- Annual PTAD 6th Grade Youth Pledge Program – program lead by PTAD and Pembroke PD where graduating 6th grade students pledge to lead healthy lives and make healthy decisions
- Support our School Administration, Teachers and School Resource Officer in any requests that support PTAD’s three goals.
PTAD is supportive of having a resource officer in the schools and has worked in collaboration with the schools and police to make it happen. - Provided multiple educational resources, e.g., books, for classrooms and libraries at all five Pembroke schools
